ABOUT THE COLLECTION
"SOTTO IL MARE", inspired by the underwater world, the Mediterranean and the visual richness of its organic forms. The proposal transformed the marine imaginary into a haute couture language, where movement, structure and craftsmanship came together to shape pieces of great technical complexity and scenic strength.
The collection explored the dialogue between Spanish tradition and underwater fantasy through designs that reinterpreted historical codes from a contemporary perspective. Among its most remarkable references, the silhouette of Las Meninas by Velázquez was transformed into haute couture gowns with Spanish crinolines, constructed through volume, presence and theatricality.
True to Mariano Moreno’s creative universe, "SOTTO IL MARE" displayed artisanal techniques of a complexity comparable to that of the great maisons, elevating each piece to the category of an artistic object. The work on forms, finishes and details turned the collection into a sophisticated proposal, where the Mediterranean appeared not as a landscape, but as living matter: coral, depth, movement and memory.
The collection also incorporated pieces with a strong identity, such as the bolero jacket and the montera inspired by Mediterranean
corals, elements that reinforced the connection between Spanish tradition and
the marine imaginary. Through this fusion, Mariano Moreno proposed a vision of
Haute Couture in which craftsmanship, culture and fantasy met under one same
narrative.
"SOTTO IL MARE", thus consolidated a poetic and powerful vision of author fashion: a collection that immersed Haute Couture in the universe of the Mediterranean, transforming it into a visual, sculptural and deeply contemporary experience.
