ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Presented at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week in April 2025, I DO is Mariano Moreno’s 2026 bridal collection, conceived as a tribute to Barcelona and the enduring legacy of Antoni Gaudí. Created ahead of the centenary of the architect’s death in 2026, the collection brings together architecture, nature, craftsmanship and contemporary bridal fashion, translating the visual language of Catalan Modernism into haute couture.
Rather than reproducing Gaudí’s buildings literally, Mariano Moreno interprets the principles behind them. Casa Batlló and the Sagrada Família become starting points for sculptural silhouettes, organic volumes, precise cuts, corsetry, intricate surfaces and handcrafted details. Curves inspired by waves, bone-like structures, mineral textures and ornamental richness are transformed into wedding gowns that balance structural precision with emotion.
In I DO, nature is not simply decorative; it becomes a method of construction. Just as Gaudí observed trees, bones and organic geometries to develop his architecture, Mariano Moreno explores how natural forms can become volume, draping, textile structure and silhouette around the body.
This architectural approach is reinforced by the house’s focus on materiality and artisanal savoir-faire. Traditional dressmaking techniques coexist with contemporary processes, while the collaboration with jewellery artist Areta Mata introduces exclusive pieces created with agates, bismuth, treated metals, minerals and selected stones. Each element contributes to a complete composition in which structure and ornament become inseparable.
Barcelona acts as the collection’s third protagonist. Presented in the city that shaped Gaudí’s legacy, I DO celebrates its creative identity and its role as World Capital of Architecture in 2026. Stone becomes fabric, architecture becomes silhouette and ornament becomes craftsmanship, revealing a bridal collection that honours tradition while imagining a new language for contemporary haute couture.
